I am a design student working on promoting herself into a job. This is just a part of my new promotion efforts (and also a project for my PR class.)
As for a little about me, I am a graphic designer who does work in almost all fields. Primarily I work in Maya doing 3D modeling, Photoshop and Illustrator doing illustration and logo/vector designs, and traditionally as a portrait artist and painter. I love screenprinting, working with my hands, and my cat Senneth.
Every week I'll try and post a few updates on myself and my portfolio and include a piece of my work that I'm proud of.
This week's piece is a photo from my last trip to the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit. It's a truly inspiring building that shows what can happen when you let a little creativity into your heart and into a city that desperately needs it. The Russel Industrial Center was an abandoned factory building that was purchased and converted into studio space for artists. They've decorated a whole side of a building that can be seen from the freeway, and even converted some space on the 5th floor into a fantastic nightclub. There's a bazaar and a lot of hope for the future of Detroit.
Keep us detroiters in your heart, the rest of the world. We're tougher and more resilient than you think, and our city is not something to throw away.
One of the artists' windows. When the sun shines through it, it creates the most beautiful colored patterns on the floor.
Thanks for seeing what I'm all about!
